Self employed music teacher at Anne Graham Music
I have been offering private music lessons to people of all ages since 2001. I set myself up as a sole trader with self employed status looking after all areas of my small business.
I currently teach piano from my home and also online through Zoom or FaceTime.
2010-2019
Visiting music teacher: Theale Green, Yateley School, Blessed Hugh Faringdon, Reading
I have worked in local schools teaching individual and group lessons, rehearing and coordinating concert performances of ensembles and choirs and preparing students for performance exams for GCSE and AS/A-Level Music.
2003-2009
Voluntary Support Worker, Bury Gateway, Lancashire
I worked as a volunteer to support adults with learning difficulties in a community centre. I helped individuals with problems that they faced and also rehearsed and performed concerts for fundraising events.
1998-2001
Primary Teacher, Sandbrook Primary, Rochdale
Worked as a music coordinator, planning and delivering music curriculum lessons from nursery children (aged 4) up to Year 6 (aged 11). I was sponsored by the head teacher to retrain as a primary classroom teacher in 1999-2000 and I went on to teach literacy and numeracy throughout the school. I specialised in helping Key Stage 1 pupils (aged 5-7) who were struggling with literacy skills.

Music Teacher, West Kirby Grammar School, Wirral, Cheshire
Taught pupils from age 11-18, including GCSE and A Level. I ran and directed many music ensembles and extra-curricular groups. I wrote original compositions for Drama productions and was the school’s charity coordinator helping to raise money each year.

B.Ed (Hons) Mus, Aberdeen University
Four years honours degree in music and teaching. I performed as a classical soprano, clarinettist, pianist and saxophonist. I wrote original compositions and arrangements, taught in many primary & secondary music departments, performed extensively in ensembles including: Steel Band, Balinese Gamelan, Samba band, Orchestra, Choirs, Swing Band, piano duets and madrigal group.
